Spencer Shuey is returning for the 2011 ACC football season as a second-team middle linebacker. Shuey redshirted as a freshman in order to develop his abilities to the college level which has proven to pay off for him and the Clemson Tigers. After a solid Spring Game on the defensive line, the Clemson Tigers coaches are optimistic in Shuey for the coming season. Prior to Clemson University, Spencer Shuey attended South Mecklenburg High where he was a star football player. During his high school career, Shuey was a defensive MVP of the 2009 Shrine Bowl and was ranked the No. 11 overall player in North Carolina by Rivals.com.
