Rashaad Jackson was raised in Union, South Carolina and graduated from Union High School in 2004. As a high school football athlete, Rashaad Jackson was a three-time starter and three-time conference pick.

Rashaad Jackson started his time with Clemson in 2005 after redshirting his 2004 season. This proved to be a wise choice. Jackson started off with a bang: recorded 39 tackles, including 8.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks. His performance led him to be recognized as the defensive rookie-of-the-year award by the Tiger coaches.

In 2006, Rashaad Jackson had at least 1 tackle in all 11 games he played. Jackson participated in at least 15 snaps in all but the first game. And in 2007, Jackson recorded 37 tackles.
