Chris Chancellor is a native Floridian, raised in Miaramar, and a graduate of Miami Edison Senior High School. As a high school football athlete, Chris Chancellor was all-state, all-conference, and All-Dade County his senior year.

Chris Chancellor red-shirted his 2005 season with the Clemson Tigers and started as a freshman in 2006. In his 2006 season, Chancellor started 4 games, more than any other Clemson Tigers cornerbacks. Chris Chancellor was ranked 3rd in the ACC with 9 special teams tackles. He finished the year as a Scout All-American honorable mention.

In 2007, Chris Chancellor appeared in 5 games and broke up 5 passes for the season. Insiders speculate that the Clemson Tigers may be making more use of Chancellor for their 2008 season.
