Bryce McNeal was born on Oct. 30, 1990 and grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He attended the prestigious Breck High School and excelled on the football field.

Bryce McNeal, as a junior, had 31 catches for 720 yards and nine touchdowns. Bryce McNeal then had 41 catches for 344 yards and 1 touchdown to end his senior year and high school football career. Bryce McNeal was ranked by many websites and organizations, including Rivals.com (75th in the country), PrepStar (91st), and ESPN.com (75th in the nation).

Football runs deep in Bryce McNeal's veins. One uncle played for the Minnesota Vikings and another was a Hall of Fame honoree at his Kentucky college. Bryce McNeal had many options from which to pick for his college choices. These included Colorado, Michigan, Minnesota, Oklahoma, and Oregon. Ultimately, Bryce McNeal became the first Minnesota born and bred player to join the Clemson Tigers since 1968.
