Aaron Kelly was born on April 2, 1986, grew up in Marietta, Georgia, and graduated from Walton High School. Aaron Kelly's lean physique and height make him perfect for catching high passes, frequently above the reach of opponents.
After redshirting in 2004, Aaron Kelly saw immediate playing time in 2005. Kelly was second on the team for receptions (47) and reception yards (575). These totals were 9th-best in all of ACC history for a freshman and earned Aaron Kelly his first letter with the Clemson Tigers.
In 2006, Aaron Kelly was again the second athlete on the Clemson Tigers football team for receptions. In 2007, as a junior, Aaron Kelly tied for 3rd among active ACC players in career receptions with 77. He also helped the Clemson Tigers to two bowl successes.
